The Islamic History of Pashtuns Pashtuns are called Afghans because Afghan was the name of one of the sons of Prophet Solomon (PBUH). Afghan became fond of the language of the Jinns, so he requested his father, Prophet Solomon (PBUH), to ask the Jinns to teach him their language. Solomon (PBUH) accepted his son's request and ordered the Jinns to teach Afghans their language. This language later became known as Pashto. As for the origins and ethnicity of the Pashtuns, the evidence suggests that Pashtuns are descendants of Prophet Abraham (PBUH) through his son, Prophet Isaac (PBUH), and their ethnicity is Israeli. English historians write that the Pashtun people lived in a part of Armenia, and the people of Armenia claim that Afghans or Pashtuns are among them.
